BELIZE,

After several years of
lobbying for the regulation of the real estate industry in Belize, on
7th November 2006 representatives from nine prominent real estate
organisations throughout Belize, namely Alpha and Omega International
Realty & Consultants, AME Development, IVORR Company Ltd., Castle
Realty, Belize Realty Connection, Ambergris Seaside Real Estate,
Rainforest Realty, Paradise Found Belize, and Think Belize, met in
Belize City on Tuesday, November 7th,2006 to finalise the
formation of a real estate association. And, on Friday 10th
November 2006,
a first for
our Country
the
BELIZE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (BNAR®)
was officially incorporated as a non-profit organisation. The
Government of Belize is expected to follow soon with the passing of a
Real Estate Act.
The primary mission of the
Belize National Association of Realtors®
is to provide a facility for education, research and
exchange of information for those engaged in the recognized branches of
the real estate business, including brokerage, management, mortgage
financing, appraising, counseling, land development and building, and
education and research in real estate in Belize, for the purpose of
raising the standards of real estate practice and preserving the right
of property ownership in the interest of the public welfare.
Members of the Belize National Association of Realtors® will be required
to adopt and adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of
Practice. (Please see below the Preamble to the Code of Ethics)
A workshop will be held at a date and place to
be announced within the next 2 weeks in order to inform stakeholders in
the real estate business about the benefits of becoming a member of the
Belize National Association of Realtors®. Persons or
